 The difference between Beast pirate and BMP is that Beast Pirate doesn't care wether Kaido is sober or not because they know Kaido can handle his own, while big mom's hunger pangs is a kind of burden for her children.  I started reading the manga at Fishman Island. For the longest, I was jealous of the people that got to read marineford as it came out. Don't get me wrong, the anime was amazing. But marineford week to week must have been thrilling. For once It's like I'm getting that feeling a lot of you got back then. This act 3 has been incredible and there is so much left to tell.  Oda is slowly going to set up all of the matchups before he ends Act 3. I think Carrot looking for Perospero, Franky meeting Sasaki, Usopp/Nami distracting P1/Ulti, and Yamato potentially running into Black Maria are solid points to that. He must feel the pressure of being arguably the most popular author on the planet*. He knows he is in the process of delivering one of the greatest stories ever told, and he desperately wants to share it with everyone.  I have a theory that it will look like Kaidou's beaten, but then he'll use the awakened form of his fruit and seem to heal off all the damage in an instant as well as being stronger in general. Remember in Impel Down Crocodile called the mino guards awakened loans and said that as awakened loans they had amazing regenerative abilities. It'd feel weird if Kaidou of all characters didn't have an awakened fruit. That said if Oda does go this route my guess is that he'll still have some lingering damage from this battle that'll create an opening for Luffy somewhere down the line Oda is still on track to make 1000 this year. Since no break next week, we are getting 994 then. This means he can take a break after 994, do 995-997, take another break, and do 998-1000 all my holidays this year.
