The chapter starts in the "Fire Festival". Although people in the "Flower Capital" are smiling, deep down all of them fear Orochi. "Fire Festival" is the only day when all of them are happy because it's the only day Orochi leaves the "Flower Capital". People are telling tales and dreams about how the Kozuki are fighting Kaidou and Orochi on Onigashima right now. Since the "Fire Festival" is the only day they are free to dream. Back to Onigashima. Queen is using the "Plague Bullets: Ice Ogre". These bullets turn people into ice onis. All of them have horns, are covered in ice, and go bite people.  The difference between Beast pirate and BMP is that Beast Pirate doesn't care wether Kaido is sober or not because they know Kaido can handle his own, while big mom's hunger pangs is a kind of burden for her children. What I mean is that Big Mom's crew looks after her while Kaido looks after his crew, we've seen this quite a times now, first with Doffy, second with Jack, third, by recruiting pirates with potential, which gives me an impression of him as a very hands-on leader. Shanks, Kidd, Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, Perospero, and Kiku... these guys all have one thing in common. They got one of their limbs forcibly taken away, whereas Zeff... Damn, the manga panel where he smashes his own leg still gives me chills...  What a masterpiece though, most of the fan base enjoying the yonko de-hype while Oda re-hype the monster again. I wanna see if big mom would have her re-hype too. It's been a long time since we see big mom beaten someone. The most that we could say that she literally annihilated an enemy was way back WCI, the one with vinsmokes attacking her. While Queen got up after a while. It would be cool if we see Luffy tandems with Marco and Jimbe to fight Mama I think at some point Luffy won't be able to escape her wrath and would fight her head-on. The main catch here is that BM and Kaido are separated and the most important factor here for them to win is to eliminate one of the first which I think is big mom. In this war, BMP is short-handed, whenever Kaido decides to betray Big Mom, number-wise, even in terms of top officials they are way behind which makes them the weakest link of all.  Assuming that all nine scabbards don't just get straight up killed, this is actually pretty great news for Kiku fans. Oda wouldn't bother to maim her if he was just going to kill her later. Since bleeding to death is basically not a thing in Shonen, Kiku just became the absolute most likely of the scabbards to survive. If I'm reading this correctly as Bao Huang being able to see through things with that eye symbol on them... now might be a good time to remember that Who's Who has a very similar symbol on his chest. Izou, Raizou, Neko, Inu, and Kawamatsu have all displayed their individual styles. They are the first to go aside from Kinemon who I believe will be one of the last because he is the leader of the scabbards and of course the first scabbard along with Denjiro. I think Oda's setting the fight up for the scabbards to be mutilated, but not killed.  I started reading the manga at Fishman Island. For the longest, I was jealous of the people that got to read marineford as it came out. Don't get me wrong, the anime was amazing. But marineford week to week must have been thrilling. For once It's like I'm getting that feeling a lot of you got back then. This act 3 has been incredible and there is so much left to tell. I Can't wait for chapter 1000!! At first, I was shocked that Kiku loses an arm but then I remembered how many people in the OP are missing an arm. I guess Law is extremely lucky that Mansherry and Leo were on Dressrosa, otherwise, he would've lost it permanently like everyone else. That Kiku panel was more brutal than I expected...  Oda is slowly going to set up all of the matchups before he ends Act 3. I think Carrot looking for Perospero, Franky meeting Sasaki, Usopp/Nami distracting P1/Ulti, and Yamato potentially running into Black Maria are solid points to that. He must feel the pressure of being arguably the most popular author on the planet*. He knows he is in the process of delivering one of the greatest stories ever told, and he desperately wants to share it with everyone. It’s honestly altruistic as hell how much he sacrifices his life and body for his story and it’s fans. I do hope he takes more breaks though.
