I thought they were going to be some neat titanium bands. Instead, they're were twisty ties like on a loaf of bread but without the outer plastic. I was really let down. After my surgery, I did a ton of reading on people who had them break, had them cut through their sternum like cheese wire, or just generally had their sternum not heal right. Between that and some unexplainable clicking for a good month (finally figured out it was actually my heartbeat), I managed to nearly drive myself crazy with paranoia. 0/10 reading, would not recommend.
