The reason there's sugar in everything in America is that we grossly overproduce it here, or "encourage" overproduction in South America with our old friend, paramilitary death squads. How do our consumption choices stack up against the ability of the rich to dictate to us what food is or is not produced? I think we should directly go after the people giving that stick. It's an ignorant argument. This marketing is the science of misleading people and taking advantage of their flaws. Expecting people to overcome their human nature and overcome this marketing specifically designed to mislead them is victim-blaming.
