 One of the unsung pros of Zion is the town of Springdale right at the gate. Most towns outside of National Parks are kind of... meh. A general store, a motel or two, etc. Rosedale has great restaurants, nice hotels, and a great brewery literally steps from the front pedestrian entrance to Zion. Last year I did a week-long road trip across Utah. Saw Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, then spent a couple days in Salt Lake City bc I wanted to float in the lake. It was amazing and I highly recommend Utah! I thought I might be bored of rocks by the end, but every park is so unique. It's still a little unbelievable just how many different types of geology and scenery there are across Utah. Also, I have read all the reviews about how the Great Salt Lake is nasty, but I must've been there on the best day of the year. I went at the very end of September and the water was cold but otherwise, it was perfect and I had so much fun bobbing in the dense water.
